Bed Jamie is made of sturdy beech and has a water-based lacquer finish. The railings all around provide a safe place to sleep. The two small railings can be detached separately. Mattress not included, slatted base included. The Montessori bed is a floor bed and takes its name from the philosophy of pediatrician and educator Maria Montessori. With a floor bed, the child can easily and safely learn to get in and out of bed on their own.
